Here’s a seven-day itinerary to embrace everything this shoreside retreat and surrounding Cornish paradise has to offer.
Day 1
Arrive and relax
Settle in, unpack, enjoy the views and graze on your handpicked Cornish Food Box produce in the Mediterranean-inspired garden. Bask in the sun and admire the views which reach as far as Longships Lighthouse (or on clear days, the Isles of Scilly).
Once you’ve destressed from the journey, head to Sennen for a surfing or coasteering session with Sennen Surfing Centre, or go wild swimming down at Gwynver Beach and catch the sunset.
Day 2
Explore Sennen
Walk the coast path to Sennen Cove and explore the vibrant village and beach. Browse The Roundhouse & Capstan art gallery, tuck into fish and chips, and spot dolphins. Hire equipment and play in the waves, before finding a secluded spot along the long stretch of beach for an afternoon nap or picnic.
Day 3
St Michael’s Mount
Get a feel for the surrounding coastline with a day trip to the magical St Michael’s Mount. Walk the causeway at low tide or catch the little boat across if it’s high. Once you’re back on land, sip cocktails at The Godolphin overlooking sparkling seas.
Day 4
Minack Theatre
Enjoy a lazy morning with your feet up, a good book and your choice of sea view sofa. Or, enjoy breakfast in bed and take your morning coffee to the master suite balcony. In the afternoon, take a trip to Minack Theatre and admire the beautiful Porthcurno Beach or the more hidden Pedn Vounder. For dinner, stay local and try Argoe or Mackerel Sky in Newlyn, just a short drive away.
Day 5
Dog friendly days
Enjoy dog friendly freedom if you’ve bought your four-legged friend along for the trip. Let them roam freely in the spacious, gated garden before heading out for a long walk.
Stroll to the pub in Sennen, take the direct path to Gwynver Beach, or plan a day trip to the picturesque Gurnard’s Head or Cape Cornwall. On the way back from the latter, treat yourself to a cheeky ice cream at the dog-friendly Moomaid of Zennor in St Just.
Day 6
Day trips
Make the most of exploring West Cornwall with a day trip to St Ives. Catch the scenic coastal train to Carbis Bay and enjoy a sustainable dinner at Adam Handling’s Ugly Butterfly restaurant.
If you’re feeling extra adventurous and are an early riser looking to make the most of your day, head to Penzance Heliport nearby and take a day trip to the stunning Isles of Scilly. Other day trip options include Mousehole, with their famous Christmas lights during the festive months.
Day 7
Forage and feast
Discover the wild food on your doorstep in Gwynver and the surrounding area with Rachel Lambert’s Bespoke Foraging sessions. Rachel covers coastal, seaweeds, hedgerow, field and woodland plants, and offers private sessions. Take what you’ve foraged home to cook dinner at Gwynver Beach House’s light-filled kitchen.
