    Where is it?

    5 The Strand is a beautiful townhouse across four floors, positioned just a short walk from the sandy shores of Porth Beach.

    When children draw a seaside scene, they draw Porth. Streams, rockpools and caves beg to be explored, whilst a sweep of beach provides ample terrain for sandcastle building and sand-fairy making. Families, adventurers and explorers of all ages will lose hour after happy hour here.

    A narrow wooden footbridge leads to Porth Island, a headland full of history. Watch in awe at mid tide, particularly on windy days, as the blow hole shoots rainbow sprays of water. Embrace the theatre of Porth Island any time of day or all year round, just wrap up warm and bring a camera to capture dramatic sunrises and storms alike.

    Back down on the beach, melted strawberry ice cream drips down sides of candy cones and sizzling tapas is served at Porth's beachside eateries. Once you've soaked up the Porth scene, try heading towards Newquay's bays, up the coast path to Whipsiderry and Watergate, or towards the rolling cliffs of Mawgan Porth and Bedruthan Steps.

A Sonos ROAM bar is also included for radio and own playlists.
    • Dining room on the first floor with large wooden table with four chairs and a bench, seating eight.
    • Fully equipped modern kitchen on the first floor with breakfast bar/island with three stools, induction hob, double oven, fridge freezer, wine fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher.
    • Separate games room in the lower ground floor garage featuring a dartboard, tennis table, monitor with Xbox with two controllers and four gamer seats.
    • Utility room on the lower ground floor with washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron.

    • There is ring door bell camera at this property which monitors the driveway and front door.

    • Stylish master bedroom on the second floor featuring a super king zip and link bed (can be made into two singles), single pull out bed, 36 inch TV with full Sky package, built in wardrobe, two bedside tables, dressing table and chair, armchair, fan and doors out onto a private balcony with two chairs and views out to the ocean in the distance.
    • Master ensuite with luxurious walk in rainfall shower, heated towel rail, wash basin and wc.
    • Second bedroom on the second floor featuring a super king zip and link bed (can be made into two singles), clothes rail and drawers, two bedside tables, TV, fan.
    • Second ensuite with walk in rainfall shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
    • Third bedroom on the ground floor featuring super king zip and link bed (can be made into two singles), 40 inch TV with full Sky package, built in wardrobe, fan and two bedside tables.
    • Fourth bedroom on the ground floor featuring double bed, 32 inch TV with full Sky package, wardrobe, fan, two bedside tables and doors out to a private patio area.
    • All TVs include the full Sky package with Sports, Film and Netflix. Only three can be using Sky at any one time but other channels are also available.
    • Family bathroom on the ground floor with bath, separate shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail.

    Outside:

    • Private garden with astro turf lawn behind the house, featuring a large table seating eight with sofa chair, two chairs and large parasol.
    • Patio area accessible from the downstairs bedroom, featuring two sofa chairs, additional chair, coffee table and feature painted wall.
    • Hot tub covered by a large modern Pergola.
    • Private gated driveway entrance at the front, with communal garden area.
    • Parking for two vehicles (please check the need to know).
    • Electric vehicle charging available at this property at £50 per car for stays up to seven nights

  • Need to Know
    • Three dogs allowed (additional charges apply). 
    • Please note that there is a seasonal dog ban between 10am and 6pm from 1 July to 31 August on Porth Beach.
    • Permitted parking for 2 cars on the house driveway, one behind the other or alternatively one car can go in the garage. Please be aware the driveway is steep, vehicles will need to be secured by handbrake. The garage may be unsuitable for particularly low vehicles due to the incline. Any additional cars must be parked off site.
    • Sorry, no smoking within the property or anywhere on the premises. 
    • Cautionary deposit of £250, due with full balance. 
    • Short breaks available outside of school holidays.

"Beautiful place to stay and had everything we needed. The modern and streamline home was impressive and added that extra feeling of luxury to the stay. We received a welcome care package of food items to make our first night and morning easier and we really appreciated this. Additionally there were stair gates at every set of stairs which was a relief as we had small children with us. We had the best time, the location was fabulous and the property was perfectly kitted out for a beach/surfer holiday. After a day of boarding or surfing, we had a nice warm shower in the outside shower before heading to the hot tub to warm up! All the staff we dealt with were super efficient and the service was amazing, from the pre-arrival communications to the speed at which any questions were answered. Thank you!

We stayed for a week and you can easily find a different beach for everyday within a short distance, however the nearest beach is only a 5 minute stroll away. "Just had my second stay at number 5 The Strand in Porth. I love this property not only for the layout but the location for sightseeing locally and especially the lovely sandy beach being so near. It's close to the coast path so a lovely walk to Watergate Bay and if you time the low tide just right you can walk the beach back to the steps at Whipsiderry."

"The house was ideal for the 3 families. With everything you could need, even cutlery and plates and a high chair for the children. Large garage for beach equipment and golf clubs, along with table tennis; darts & an X-Box. We all had Sky in our bedrooms & on the main floor. We loved the garden for the children to play and for the adults to relax. Big dining table which seated us all, plus breakfast bar/stools. The views from the 2 balconies were great. The bathroom and en-suites were well equipped with complementary toiletries. The beach is 4 minutes' walk away and it's 10 minutes to Newquay. Plenty of hanging space/cupboards, especially in the kitchen. Overall an excellent experience from booking to leaving, we would definitely recommend it!"

We loved the garden for the sunbeds and large table and chairs where we all chilled out. The girls loved the balconies on each floor and the views, and the wine fridge was a nice touch. "Lovely family getaway. The property is freshly painted and seems brand new. We had lovely weather and enjoyed the garden furniture for a few alfresco meals and some sunbathing on the upper level on the sunbeds provided. The 3 balconies are nice to sit out on and watch the sunset. My husband uses a scooter and found it easy to get to the beach - just 75 metres away from the garage. The big Bath on the ground floor was a treat, and everyone said the showers were lovely and powerful. TVs with Sky in every bedroom was a bonus and plenty of hanging space was provided. Kids loved the Games room taking turns on X Box; Darts and Table Tennis. We’ll be back many times in the future."

Huge TV with Sky/Netflix and TVs with Sky Boxes in each bedroom making wi-fi strong everywhere. The games room in the massive garage had everything to keep us all entertained with nightly table tennis competitions. 10 minute walk to Newquay and 20 minute walk to Lusty Glaze mean't no need for cars. Lots of cupboard space."

"Every family member had something that they wanted from the house – Sky TV in every bedroom and lounge. Xbox, darts and table tennis in the garage. Highchair & cot for our baby. 2 Dogs allowed to stay with us and outside, the Astro lawn made life easy for kids/dogs. Local pub 3 minute walk. The beach allows dogs to run around. The kids were flying kites on the beach even with the winter weather. BIG lounge/kitchen area with bar stools for us all to sit and chat whilst cooking. Short walk into town & lovely coastal paths."
