Where is it?
Pilchards is a two bedroomed fisherman’s cottage with wide reaching sea views across Mounts Bay, with St. Michael’s Mount taking centre stage. It is the perfect spot to watch the lights glowing at night along the coast.

Marazion is an ancient market town, home to a vast sandy beach where you can walk for miles. It’s great for discovering rock formations with the gentle lapping tide that recedes to the iconic St.Michael’s Mount. This tiny island appears to have been lifted straight out of a fairytale, with a crescent harbour and an ancient castle nestled in wooded slopes.

Travelling to the Mount is almost as much fun as exploring the island. It’s a ten minute walk over the ancient stone causeway at low tide, or when the tide is in the National Trust runs boats that potter to and fro. Buying tickets for visiting the island is easy via the National Trust website, which prompts a boat ticket if the causeway will be covered and gives opening times.

There’s plenty to explore in West Cornwall all year round. A park and ride at nearby St. Erth connects to bustling St. Ives via a scenic branch line train. The harbour at Newlyn offers a number of eateries, including a new seafood bar and interesting galleries. Porthleven's beautiful fishing harbour is just a short drive away.

If you fancy a walk with sea views try the flat promenade, part of the South West Coast Path, from Marazion to Penzance, which is under 3 miles long with cafes and sculptures along the way. Penzance itself offers the renovated art-deco lido with its geo-thermal Jubilee pool and café, the famous Penlee art gallery and an inviting delicatessen. Or pack a picnic with juice and scones to eat at the breathtaking Minack Theatre before catching the rays on Porthcurno beach.

- Open plan living and dining space on the ground floor with twin generous two seater sofas, Smart TV, eco fire, and breathtaking sea views.
- Dining space with Scandi style table and four chairs.
- Separate well equipped kitchen on the ground floor with electric oven and induction hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and filter coffee machine.
- Washing machine and freezer in an original outhouse next to the back door. Another restored building now houses a handy hot beach shower.
- Cot and high-chair available.
- WiFi.
Sleeping:
- Master bedroom with king size bed, dressing table, hanging rail, two bedside tables and fabulous views of St Michael's Mount and the surrounding bay.
- Second bedroom with king size bed (can be made into two smaller singles), dressing table, hanging rail, two bedside tables and good views of St. Michael’s Mount and the bay.
- Spacious bathroom adjacent on first floor with freestanding bath, heated towel rail, WC and basin.
- Second contemporary shower room, basin and heated towel rail.
- Separate cloakroom with WC and mini basin next door.
Outside:
- Decked patio up fairly steep steps leading from the kitchen - the perfect sun trap for sitting out on a summer afternoon.
- Free on street parking nearby as there is no parking at the property. Alternatively the owner will cover the cost to the value of £50 per 7 night stay and £20 per short break by way of a refund in the St Michaels Mount & Long Stay Marazion Car park if required. There is however easy access for luggage drop off/pick up at the front of the property.

- The Coastal Hopper bus service has a stop opposite the cottage, and offers a brilliant car free alternative that travels to local town and village centres.

"Pilchards is a beautiful cottage with lovely views across Mounts Bay to St Michaels Mount. The cottage is extremely well equipped, the owners have obviously put a great deal of thought into this and into the decor. Beds/pillows very comfortable. We ate at Shutters in the Godolphin Hotel and really liked the friendly welcoming atmosphere in The Cutty Sark pub. Lovely arts/crafts shops in the village - long may they last."

"Pilchards Cottage is beautifully decorated, has a cosy living area, really comfy beds, a stylish bathroom and small but very well equipped kitchen. We could walk to the local village pubs and the Godolphin Hotel restaurant which is where we had breakfast one day and is dog friendly. When the tide was out we walked across to St Michaels Mount and also walked the coastal path along to Perranuthnoe so didn't need to use the car very much. A short drive is Newlyn where the fantastic Mackerel Sky Seafood bar is. There is a bus stop right outside so great if you want a car free holiday.
