Walk through the pretty field and be on the beach in just over five minutes.
The interiors, the space, the views. It is the perfect family escape, just moments from the beach.
Iona is a newly converted contemporary home, down a quiet country road, with the golden sands of Porthcothan reachable in just over a 5 minute walk. On route you will pass fields of wildflowers which line the coastal path down towards the cove. Porthcothan is one of Cornwall's secret bays, a deep inlet surrounded by rocky headlands with a big expanse of sand at low tide. This tiny coastal village has a lovely hidden quality; it has remained largely undeveloped and provides an 'away from it all' feel.
There are eleven beaches all within a 5-20 minute drive of Porthcothan. You'll find Porthcothan beach is quieter than many of the better-known beaches with a focus on playing on the sand and in the sea. Around the corner is the more popular Treyarnon Bay, a beautiful golden sanded beach with a coast path leading to panoramic views over Constantine Bay.
Just a short drive from Porthcothan is Padstow with its picturesque harbour and Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant. Watergate Bay and its array of restaurants are just 15 minutes away by car and Newquay a little further, with great shopping, beach activities and all kinds of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
"We had a wonderful stay at Iona, the house is beautiful and in a great location. The house met all our needs, with a mix of bedrooms on the ground and upper floor giving us space and accessibility. The house is very welcoming with stylish and luxury furnishings. We took our two dogs so being a few steps from the coastal path was great for us. Access to beautiful walks and easy reach to the beach was a big appeal. The views over the bay and beyond were stunning. I would highly recommend this house and would love to return."
"Fantastic property, very comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished. Fantastic location."
