Scarlet sunsets set the sky alight as you dine in the swanky beachfront eateries or sip a warming hot chocolate on the sand. Watergate's two miles of sand are popular with families, couples and dogs alongside surfers and thrill seekers. Stride out on a long ramble or short jaunt along the coast path, with nearby walks to Newquay's seven bays or Mawgan Porth.
Plunge into watersports lessons with Wavehunters, where you can try your hand at surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and kite surfing. The beach is exposed to incoming swell from the Atlantic, making it an excellent place for watersports.

"We had a great few days at 8 Whitehouse! We love Watergate Bay and have stayed at the hotel a few times over the years, but this was the first time booking an apartment near by. The apartment was spacious, very clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for the three generations of our family - the kids and grandparents equally loved it! The kitchen especially was very well kitted out with equipment and had everything we needed and more. Great views across to the beach, which is just a short walk away. We will definitely come back some time!"
